Finding the Make and Model of Your Tablet

Christmas in July: Hottest Gadgets for Christmas 2011

Half the country is sizzling with record high temperatures and I’m blogging about Christmas already?

It’s never too early to talk about this season’s holiday gifts when you have the PSP Vita and the iPhone 5 leading the pack.

Expect a ton of cheap tablets to be available this holiday season (But stay away from the iPad 2 considering that the iPad 3 will come out in February!). The perfect tablet stocking stuffer will be the Asus Transformer. It’s currently priced at $399, but expect huge savings in time for Christmas.

On the cell phone side, the iPhone 5, Motorola Dinara and the Google Nexus 4G should be the top contenders. For those that haven’t heard of the Dinara, it’s supposedly the sequel to the Droid Bionic that will be out just in time for the holidays.

For you gamers out there, you might want to start saving your pennies now for the PSP and/or the Wii U. The Wii U is expected to be released in the first or second quarter of 2012, but it certainly won’t be priced anywhere near the original Wii.

Before Intel comes out with the new Ivy Bridge line in March of 2012, the hottest laptop for this Christmas might be Apple’s refreshed Sandybridge equipped MacBook Air. Apple may have a reputation for selling pricey products, but considering MacBook Air’s innards and high quality construction, this little bad Apple fell far away from the tree. It’s actually cheap compared to the competition!

And last, but not least, for those that haven’t gotten a flat screen TV, expect to be swamped with ads featuring heavy discounts this holiday season, especially for 3-D TVs. Manufacturers didn’t decrease the production of flat panels to match the dwindling consumer demand. So hold off on buying that monster sized 3-D until November-December.

2011 Top Holiday Gadgets:

  • PSP Vita
  • iPhone 5
  • Motorola Dinara (Droid Bionic Who?)
  • Google Nexus 4G
  • Tablet Craze!
  • Wii U Piggy Bank
  • MacBook Air (Sandybridge)
  • 3D-TV’s
